The Gloucester High School Marching Dukes are getting ready to host the group’s Bands Along the Bay competition on Saturday. Fifteen bands will compete with a thousand or more people (students, family members and the community) expected to be in attendance. Last week, several of the band members went on Xtra 99.1 FM to promote the event and thank the sponsors, including Gold Level sponsors Xtra 99.1 and Southern Plumbing. Shown with the radio’s Neal Steele are, from left, Haley Thomas, Julie Trist, Sarah Knoller, Owen Feiring, Alyssa Smith, Marcos Puente-Rosario, Sarah Thibault, Emma Layton and Ramal Mitchell. The competition begins at 3:30 p.m. and ends with the presentation of awards at 9. For more information, including early purchase of tickets, visit the Gloucester High School Marching Dukes Facebook page.
